SUBMITTED...................Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting The Columbus Specialty Surgery Center.Upon entering we noticed the mail man outside. He walked in the door before we did. He let himself in the other door as we stood at the glass window waiting for the receptionist to check us in. We then noticed the mail man entered the area where the receptionist should be, to collect the mail on the far side of the room, behind the glass window. We noticed patients information, files and more then likely personal information being right there in fact, in plain view of us and the mail man. The receptionist had obviously stepped out of her area, leaving the mail man full access to her work area. I believe this is a violation of HIPPA regulations. Columbus Specialty Surgery Center needs to be more careful who they let in behind the glass! If no one else has noticed this, it would surprise me because the mail man and the receptionist were most friendly with each other and when she returned and she didnt seem to mind him being there.
