SUCCESS IN A COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT TODAY’S WORD: 27th July, 2013 John 5:7-8 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Jesus attended a feast of the Jews in Jerusalem, while there, He took a walk to a place called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda. In this place were laid several impotent people but Jesus’ attention was on one particular man that had been there for thirty eight years. Although an angel went down to trouble the water at intervals to bring healing to anyone that would enter first, this man for thirty eight years was unable to get healed. Why was this so? There was always another person who was stronger or faster than him around whenever it was time for him to be healed. The man lacked the ability to succeed in a competitive environment. Is this your story too, do you see yourself not being able to compete favourably with the people around you, maybe because of your academic, social, or any other background defects, the hand of the Lord will rest upon you today and bring enabling grace upon you that will push you to your success in Jesus name. David in one of his most popular Psalms said that God prepared a table before him in the presence of his enemies. If that Psalms ended there we would have thought that David will never succeed. But thank God who in such a highly competitive environment anointed his head with oil which brought him into the realm of the unstoppable, the realm of the overflow (Psalms 23:5). Today, it is my prayer that the oil that will make you succeed in the midst of stiff competition will locate your head in Jesus name. Psalms 92:10; But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. Gudmorning all
