SUCCESS with our young one! Today, we picked her up from her grandparents house in the city. I spent the morning with her playing some games and doing a project. Our project consisted of writing 5 things we dislike about moving - and 5 things we liked. Separate pieces of rectangular cardboard. I told her we would later frame them and decorate them (she thought I meant with markers and crayons. Poor kiddo - I was a born natural scrapbooker!) The success comes in the form of her answers! DISLIKES: 1) The ceiling (its white - hers currently is a dull cream). I told her we would paint it whatever color she wanted. 2) The mess - short term, sweetheart - it will be clean before we move into it! 3) Trees - She said its too shady. I told her to go to the pasture (fenced or unfenced section) and she said it would be too cold. (what, we have a Goldilocks among us?) I told her we are building her a tire swing - and its guess where? In the trees. That made her happy and she suggested a tree house, which of course brought up the discussion of where treehouses are located ... she kinda likes the trees now. 4) Weeds - Our push mower has not been used in 3 years and is not working now that we need it. We have a friend giving us a riding mower but we dont have it yet. I took a rented weed eater (ours broke and is being repaired - will be here Saturday!) and wacked the weeds close to the house. Told her, again, short term -they will be gone. 5) Gravel - Apparently she doesnt like the sound of it when a car comes. We discussed how this means we know someone is coming up the road, long before they get to our house. She liked that idea.
