SUICIDE AND HEAVEN Well this is a touchy subject and yet again a very confused one. Im going to tell you what I believe, why I believe it and give biblical references for my beliefs. I DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE IS DOOMED FOR HELL, BASED OFF SUICIDE. one quick reference that is very common for military,... lets say a grenade is thrown in a group of service men by an enemy force. One of the few service men chooses to jump on the grenade to save his friends lifes. The service man just committed suicide he killed himself knowingly. But did Jesus not say theres no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his friends. Jn 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ----------------- When only get to heaven based on salvation and nothing else or these verse would have no meaning. Heb 6:4 For [it is] impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put [him] to an open shame. -------------- There exists to very straight forward stories on suicide in the Bible we will look at both of them briefly. The first is that of Judas and the second is the story of Samson. Judas- whether Judas entered into heaven or not I cannot 100% say. But I can give my beliefs, he did commit suicide, the Bible dose say he repented himself, a few questions Ive asked myself is why would Jesus pick someone to be a disciple like Judas. The answer I have came to is their had to be a Judas to fulfil scripture. Samson- Judg 16:30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with [all his] might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that [were] therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than [they] which he slew in his life. Heb 11:32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets: Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: Heb 11:36 And others had trial of [cruel] mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goat skins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and [in] mountains, and [in] dens and caves of the earth. Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. Samson killed himself and is referred to as a man of faith in the new testament. --------------- Suicide definition--- I believe we should never harm ourselves in anyway willingly and any problem we have we should always give to God. Here is what it comes down too according to scripture God will not put anymore on us than we can bear, as long as we are living in Gods will. But the devil can put more on an individual than they can bear as a result of not living in Gods will, thats one reason suicide is so common when dealing with demonically inflicted people. How do we avoid depression and all these thoughts of loneliness- simple we live in Gods will, we dont brake the hedge and we keep our eyes on God. If we do that God will never put anymore on us than we can bear, and if we live for God the devil cannot harm us by putting more on us than we can bear. One thing you have to understand in all of this is Salvation and Salvation alone will get an individual to heaven. We are saved by Grace through faith. Salvation is a gift that suicide cannot effect. And its not Gods will that any should perish. ------------ However I do believe there exists 3 sins that cannot be forgiven on this side of eternity. 1. Blasphemy 2. Accepting the mark of the Beast 3. Suicide -but only because the individual dies before he can ask forgiveness. Now with that being said I do believe if the individual has accepted Jesus Christ they will be forgiven due to the sin debt being paid and enter into heaven, and I think this is the main reason most preachers get the subject confused. -------- Lets look back at the stories of Samson and Judas. Their is a lot to the Judas story in the gospels that I could write a post on alone, but Ill simplify what I think. Samson at the time of his suicide was pre grace period, so I believe he entered Abrahams bussom and than after Pentecost, Heaven. Judas I believe was grieved in what he done and when scriptures say he repented of him self, I feel he realised what he had done, but he allowed the devil to put more on him than he could bear, lets remember Judas did not crucify Jesus he just simply betrayed him. Many betray Jesus in their actions everyday, and look how bad it grieved Judas. Judas knew Jesus was the son of God, so therefore he obviously would have accepted him in my opinion, Ill be glad to discuss this more, and I could be wrong but I believe Judas is in heaven. As always these are my opinions and I hope they help someone.
