SUNDAY, OCTOBER 05, 2014 DEVOTION THEME: YOUR YOUTHFUL DAYS MUST BE USEFUL TO GOD! KEY TEXT: Eccl. 11:9 (Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment) - KJV. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ There are several definitions and descriptions for a Youth, but to me, a youth refers to an able-bodied person who is active and productive physically, spiritually, mentally etc. Beloved, the Lord says you shall be judged for everything you do in your days of activity and productivity on earth. Your youthful days are days of temptation to sin and apostasy, because for all you can do or have during this period, you may easily relegate God to the background or feel you do not need God. Also, for your activity, ability and productivity, your youthful exuberance can easily dispose you to sin, because you can easily go and come. Naturally, if a person is weak, old, afflicted etc, for his/her natural survival instincts, he/she seeks help and so God becomes the main option. God says although youre up and doing with almost all you need at your disposal, forget Him not, because He is your inevitable source and shall hence demand an account from you. With your strength, vibrance, activity, ability, productivity, money, etc, be at church and do not think it is only for those who are ill, need spouses, jobs, deliverance or help from God.
