SUNDAY SPLASH: Mr. President, the SNC option is a trap. Avoid it. There is no doubt that I want President Ebelemi Jonathan voted out of office in 2015 through a democratic process. I have judged his government a failure in almost all facets of governance. More importantly, I have always frowned at people that never abides the tenets of agreements they entered into. This is fundamental for me. However, I do not wish the President bad or evil. I see the present chant for a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) by a section of the political elite as demonic and geared towards causing confusion, anarchy and engendering a civilian coup through the back door. The report in the Guardian newspaper of today that the President is considering the convocation of n SNC in response to the factionalization of PDP is not only unhelpful but dangerous to the President himself. I have stated time without number in the past that SNC is not workable because there is no road map to it, but the President should not walk into a trap with his eyes open. An SNC will simply carryout one agenda before starting the so called nation shaping deliberations: IT WILL STRIP PRESIDENT JONATHAN OF HIS POWERS AND SEND HIM BACK TO OTUOKE. Once this is done the conference will simply pass clueless resolutions and it will be business as usual. Mr. President, those advising you that the prospect of an SNC will shake your political opponents and bring them on board your administration are simply living in "Alice Wonderland" to say the least. I have said my bit.
