SUNDAY WEATHER FORECAST Rest of Today: Sunny spells and scattered blustery showers this afternoon. The showers will be heavy at times, and also may turn wintry at times. Winds remaining very strong, reaching gale or severe gale force in places. Maximum Temperature: 8 Deg C (46 Deg F) This Evening and Tonight: Further showers expected this evening and overnight, with the showers turning increasingly to sleet and snow, with some accumulations possible to quite low levels by the end of the night. Strong to gale force westerly winds continuing throughout the night. Minimum Temperature: 1 Deg C (34 Deg F) Monday: It will be a bright day with a mixture of sunny intervals and occasional wintry showers. Despite the sunshine it will feel cold, especially in the strong to gale force westerly wind. Maximum Temperature: 5 Deg C (41 Deg F) Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Mainly dry on Tuesday, with lighter winds, before further rain arrives during the evening. Wednesday will be bright, breezy and increasingly showery, before colder conditions return on Thursday Coastal Waters Forecast for Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney Wind: Southwesterly veering westerly, 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 in far north. Visibility: Moderate or good, occasionally poor in north. Weather: Squally wintry showers. Sea State: Moderate or rough in east, high or very high in north. Coastal Waters Forecast for Shetland Isles Wind: Southwest gale 8 to storm 10, veering west or northwest 7 to severe gale 9. Visibility: Moderate or good, occasionally poor.
