SUNNAHS OF TRAVELLING Before setting out on a journey, perform 2 Rakat Nafl (optional) Salah. Make dua and ask Allah to be your companion on the journey. ---- Before travelling, give out some charity (Sadaqah). Charity acts as a shield from calamity. ----- It is better to travel with another person, or a group. Do not travel alone. The help of Allah is with the Jamaah (group). ------ It is better to start a journey early in the morning. Nabi SallalahuAlayhiWaSallam made dua for the journey of the morning to be blessed. ------ It is Sunnah to appoint an Ameer (leader) when going on a journey. ------ Always recite the Dua when leaving home. This will secure the help & mercy of Allah. ------ When stepping into the conveyance (car, bus, airplane, etc) recite Bismillah and step on with the right foot. ----- When undertaking a journey, always remind others about the Duas, Sunnah, etc, thereby helping them and securing reward for yourself as well.
