SUPPORT THE REPEAL OF THE Government Pension Offset and the Windfall Elimination Provision. The Government Pension Offset usually totally eliminates all government employees Social Security Spousal Benefits, and if the government pension is less than $1,000 a month, you are officially in poverty. (realistically in poverty with much more income in high-cost areas of this country) With a government pension of only $900 a month, the Windfall Elimination Provision will cut a Social Security Retirement benefit from $600 to $300. These offsets make no provision for the well-being of government retirees!
