SV Initiative Group We are members of the SV because we love the versatility of the German Shepherd Dog. Club members who engage in honest working dog training, competitive trials, and breeding know the quality of the breed. Unfortunately, the standards of some competitive trails have been compromised in an effort to market the German Shepherd Dog on a larger scale and to increase sales. The practice of bribing trial judges is not even considered “mildly inappropriate”. Some judges, in exchange for money, are awarding training degrees, even though no test has taken place. In an effort to combat such practices, the Federal Training Director initiated an investigation. Supported by an increase in spectator participation at questionable trials, the investigation has rendered good results in the fight against fraudulent and abusive behavior on the part of judges. Unfortunately, however, since it is now more difficult to conduct such illegal trials in Germany, an intensified movement to conduct such trials outside of Germany, (especially in the Czech Republic and Poland) has begun. In order to prevent the success of such trails, we ask you to please contact and inform your sport friends letting them know about these fraudulent trials. We ask for your help to prevent fraudulent judging practices abroad.
