SWAT AIR SUPPORT ‘Sophisticated’ Drones, increase - TopicsExpress

SWAT AIR SUPPORT ‘Sophisticated’ Drones, increase surveillance capacity and response options and, used together with other law enforcement techniques, deter poachers and can lead to the arrest of those who perpetrate such criminal activity. Statistics suggest, by the mere presence of having an eye in the sky, 8 out of 9 rhinos were saved from poachers in one game park alone! Aerial surveillance, coupled with paramilitary forces on the ground, is one if not the best deterrent to possible poachers in the area. The aerial support provides a greater viewpoint of wildlife and of course poachers themselves. Air support is absolutely imperative for monitoring wildlife, and for spotting any suspicious activity. Should an animal not be seen on a routine Aerial Tracking Flight, or is observed to be in imminent danger, counter-poaching units can be dispatched to investigate immediately. We can supplement Drones with experienced volunteer pilots; some with military and conservation background experience for Anti-Poaching Aerial Patrols. SWAT Patrol UK propose to use high-tech surveillance drones and light aircrafts with volunteer international pilots and observers to monitor above parks and reserves, while focussing on the implementation of unmanned long and short range ‘drones’, equipped with surveillance cameras to provide a safer environment all wildlife habitat. Special Wildlife Aerial Trackers (SWAT) is about improving surveillance above national parks and game reserves. South African telecom provider VOX Telecom are supporting the anti poaching efforts in Kruger National Park. There are a number of sponsorship opportunities available to support this project please contact us to find out how you could help too. Please note: we are currently not looking for volunteers pilots for this project.
