SWAT Parents: Thank you for your patience tonight as we went over 7:30PM, I apologize for that. I want to commend all the girls, they all hustled and no one quit. I was pleased with our defense and pleased with our pitching. I recognize we need live hitting practice at game speed and we need to work on bunting and stealing. All in all I am very pleased with how hard the girls worked and the performance from that hard work. I know some of you, if not all of you noticed that the game schedule has us at the 1pm and 5pm games for all 4 weeks. A few things about that. #1 That really only stinks for us as parents because it eats up our whole Sunday. For the girls it gives them a chance to rest between games. (For those of us whove played 2,3,4,5 games in a day, we know how that rest is important for the girls). #2 Ive put a call and a text in to Andi, the League Rep for 10u and asked that they consider changing the schedule around to give us a Sunday or two of back to back games to reduce the burden on the parents of our girls. I cannot say whether they will or wont change the schedule for us but, I am hopeful. We will have a practice on Monday but Im not sure of the time yet. The practice is optional due to holiday weekend. We will have the 16u Mafia coach and his daughter there to assist us with pitching. We will also work concurrently on game speed live hitting and Catching. Any parent who wants to bring a mitt and help with shagging balls during the live hitting, I would be grateful. If there are times that work better for you on Monday, let me know. I cannot promise I can accommodate, I have to balance parent availability, the 16u coach availability and the other coaches availability. Again for a team with no real prior pitching experience and the bulk of girls this is first year at 10u, be proud of them, I am. They performed well. I stated at the first practice a few things. 1. Everybody hustles, nobody quits. 2. Have Fun, 3. Try Hard and 4. Be a great sport. We did all of those tonight.
