***SWEET HEADBUTTING PREGNANT MAMA CAT HAD HER OLDER KITTENS TAKEN FROM HER & NOW WILL LOSE HER LIFE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHES PERFECTLY HEALTHY - PLEASE GRANT GIGI A DEATH ROW PARDON!!!*** Gorgeous GIGI, a 3-year-old brown tabby & white beauty who is a mom but is PREGNANT AGAIN, was brought to the high-kill ACC as a STRAY, along with 3 of her 16-week-old kittens Bran, Rye and Wheat (listed last night and they have an adoption pending). Her back story is heartbreaking: Gigis previous owners moved away about 2 years ago. A woman has been feeding her & giving her attention twice a day since then. Gigi has 6 kittens & the woman has been feeding & cleaning them as well. She noticed other cats hanging around Gigi & was worried they would hurt her. During intake she allowed her 4-month-old kittens to nurse. She laid in the carrier, cuddling with them. She didnt vocalize or resist to scan, collar, or pets. HER EYES WERE SOMEWHAT WIDE WHEN WE TOOK HER KITTENS AWAY. She allowed me to pick her up & hold her but pushed against the opening of the welcome box. I held her outside the box, pet(ted) her, put food in the box, and gave her some time to think about it. She went in. No vocalization or trying to get away from me at any time. In the box she ate. Gigis three kittens brought into the shelter (Wheat, Bran, & Rye) were all ADOPTED LAST NIGHT & ARE SAFE, but we must make sure that Gigi has the same happy ending as they do. Gigi earned a near-perfect AVERAGE behavioral rating for her trusting HEADBUTTS! Shes PERFECTLY HEALTHY, but the ACC will kill Gigi & her unborn kittens at noon tomorrow.
