SWRR 2014 Information for you horse folks: Texas State Law requires a current Negative coggins for each horse. (if you dont know about that, give me a call) We have liability signs posted around the property, ride at your own risk. Because of the drought, we wont have much pasture (if any) for your horses to graze. You will need to bring your own hay/grain with you, UNLESS: We have a hay provider 5 miles from the house. He has round bales and square bales. If you want us to provide hay for your animals, whether theyre picketed, stalled or boarded in our turnouts, just give me a call and I can give you pricing. We will pick up whatever you need and bring it to the ranch. JD suggested that if several of you are picketing or boarding your horses together, it might be more cost effective to go in together on a round bale and fork out what they need daily. This is how we feed all of ours and our clients. Its much cheaper than squares. However, its a pain :) So if you want square bales, no problem. Cost varies, and if we dont get any rain, it will be more expensive in March. Right now, I can get round bales at $100 and Square bales about $20. The round bales weigh about 1200 lbs. and the square bales weigh about 100 lbs. and break off into 18 to 20 flakes. He also (sometimes) carries the smaller, lighter square bales that run about $12. Can you believe it? Gone are the days of the $1.50 squares....It is good hay, however. Boarding: We have two small pastures with shelters. We also have several covered stalls. And we have some panels that can be set up near camp for anyone who wants their horse close by, but not picketed. Pricing: you picket free If you want to rent the panels, each 10X10 pen with gates is $5 per day, you feed your own horse. Well set them up where you want them. The pastures with barn or the covered stalls are $10 per day, if you feed. If you want us to feed for you, and keep your horse in the pasture or stall, it is $20 per day. We have a large arena and round pen that have obstacles you can play in if you like, depending on availability. We have clients coming and going all the time. And just to give you an idea of the layout: the arena, pastures, stalls, etc. are approximately 1/2 mile from the doins. I hope this helps with any questions. Please, please call and reserve asap what you want because spring is our busiest season and we need to know what we can do to help yall in any way we can. If you have questions on any of the hay pricing and availability, call now! Have I told yall how much we appreciate you and how fun this will be? Hot to Trot
