SYNOPSIS: Happy Monday! Heres the weather synopsis: ASIA: A stationary front is draped from eastern China through the Korean Peninsula and into Japan. Expect instability to produce clouds and rain for the next few days. Some areas may encounter heavy rainfall with rates as high as 40 mm/hour. The air quality in Beijing continues to be very poor, leading to serious pollution issues. Heavy fog only accentuated the issue and caused even more problems Monday morning. There is no forcing mechanism expected to change the weather scenario for the region the next few days. OCEANIA: A low pressure system is spinning south of Australia, and that is bringing a cold front through the southern coast. Expect some clouds for Tuesday with a chance of some sprinkles. Otherwise, most of the weather throughout the country is relatively dry and sunny. Drier conditions will continue for North Island, but we are expecting some rain and storms to roll through South Island for the next few days as a system from Australia crosses into the area. EUROPE: The Iberian Peninsula is starting to dry out after a very busy time period during the weekend as a massive low pressure system came to western Europe. Expect sunny skies for Portugal and Spain. Meanwhile, the low affecting western Europe has moved over the British Isles and moving into the Scandinavian Peninsula, providing ample rain and plenty of cloud cover. The rain stretches through the northeastern regions of the continent into parts of western Russia. NORTH AMERICA: Tropical Storm #Ana is still providing plenty of cloud cover, but all in all, the worst of the storm (which was relatively minimal) is pushing out. This is threatening the national monument to the west of Hawaii. Rough surf is likely to continue the first part of this week. Meanwhile, the low pressure system in western Canada is providing plenty of rainfall and windy conditions to the US Pacific Northwest, and that will continue for a few more days. Another cell of rain in the Great Lakes will produce much colder temperatures for the next few days. Dry weather will continue for the central portions of the United States. Hope you have a magnificent Monday wherever you are!
