SYNOPSIS: Happy Thursday! Heres a look at the weather synopsis... ASIA: While some clouds and showers are moving through Japan, high pressure is taking over northern and eastern China and the Korean Peninsula. The influence of that high will shift eastward, providing fair weather for Japan going into the weekend. The development and strengthening of #Kammuri will bring problems to the Mariana and Ogasawara Islands through the weekend into early next week. That may bring even sunnier weather for central Japan because of the development of a mini-high in the area. Southern China will still see scattered showers for the next few days. The Philippines will continue to see showers over the entire country in a scattered fashion. OCEANIA: Some scattered showers will finally depart from the eastern coast of Australia going into Friday, and it will likely arrive in New Zealand going into the weekend. Expect to see clearing conditions for most of Australia, but New Zealand will seeing increasing cloudiness and a chance of rain for the weekend. Another front will cross the western side of Australia and bring a chance of showers for the region by the latter part of the weekend. EUROPE: A low pressure system is crossing over Italy and heading into the Balkan Peninsula, so expect to see some showers and possibly some heavy rain for the next few days. It doesnt look like the low will be an extended rain maker unlike the past lows that were cut off from the jetstream. A cold front crossing through central and eastern Europe from a low in the Scandinavian Peninsula will bring showers for the next couple of days. Another developing low will bring clouds and scattered showers for the western portions of Europe by the end of the weekend. NORTH AMERICA: A low pressure system off the Carolinas will continue to provide clouds and some scattered showers for Thursday and possibly for the next few days. There are no significant mechanisms to change the weather pattern for the US Southeast. A low on the west coast of the US and Canada will attempt to come on-shore, and in the process of dragging some moisture into the Rocky Mountains, rain will be in the forecast for the weekend. Meanwhile, the central United States and Canada will see relatively dry conditions for the rest of the week. Tropical Storm #Rachel will not be a significant threat for the western coast of Mexico as it continues to float northwest out to sea. Hope you have a good day wherever you are!
