SYNOPSIS: Happy Tuesday! Heres the weather synopsis... ASIA: Pressure continues to rapidly drop over Japan as intensification continues for two systems rolling over the country. Plenty of showers are being reported in Tokyo and southern central Japan, while northern and western Japan are seeing snow in the mountains. Expect high wind gusts to continue in Hokkaido Wednesday along with high waves and plenty of snow. The system will also provide rain and windy conditions for the Korean Peninsula, with some areas seeing snow, including Jeju Island. Conditions will improve as we head into Thursday. OCEANIA: The north coast of Australia continues to see rain and storms firing up in the heat of the day because of instability. This pattern is not expected to change for the moment. Meanwhile, a cold front is pushing eastward along the East Coast, brining rain and storms into southern Queensland and parts of Victoria and New South Wales. Rain will increase along with strong wind and storms for the northern portions of New Zealand. EUROPE: Some unstable weather is entering into Europe from the west, though the Scandinavian Peninsula is also dealing with some unstable as well. The North and Western sides of Europe will see some unstable weather, while the southeast continues with its drier weather pattern, including the Balkans. A developing low may produce some rain for the southern Italian Peninsula. NORTH AMERICA: California and the US Pacific Northwest are seeing plenty of rainfall (and snowfall in the higher elevations and latitudes), along with strong winds. This system is helping out with the serious drought, but it is also causing some major headaches too. The Great Lakes into the US Northeast and as far as the Carolinas will see rain and storms (and snow for the higher latitudes) as an area of low pressure pushes through.
