SYNOPSIS: Happy Wednesday! Heres todays synopsis... ASIA: Violent Typhoon #Vongfong is the strongest storm to date in the Western Pacific this year. Thankfully, it is over open waters, and by the time it starts to arrive in the western islands of Japan, we are expecting a bit of weakening. However, this weekend will be rough for Okinawa and the Daito Island as high waves roar on-shore, compounding a problem already experienced from #Phanfone. A cyclonic storm named #HudHud (Hud Hud) has developed in the Andaman Sea. It is expected to intesify as it moves northwest toward the eastern coast of India, so be prepared for heavy rainfall and powerful winds. Elsewhere, the weather is relatively calm in Japan and the Korean Peninsula. OCEANIA: Most of Australia is remaining free of much rainfall, but the eastern coast is seeing some scattered showers as a front attempts to clear the area. Expect mainly dry conditions for the next couple of days before scattered showers return by the weekend for the eastern coast. New Zealand will see some rain and showers going forward through the rest of the week. EUROPE: A low pressure system moving in from the Atlantic is bringing quite unstable conditions for the western side of the continent. Some portions of France, Spain, and Portugal will see a chance of strong storms for Wednesday and possibly into Thursday. Eastern Europe is seeing warmer than normal conditions because of the southerly flow, so expect highs to be warm for the next couple of days before the front crosses through the continent. NORTH AMERICA: The far northeastern tip of the US into southeastern Canada may see a chance of storms for the morning hours Wednesday. The cold front responsible for the weather should depart quite quickly. A complex of storms in the Tennessee Valley will be the focal point for possible additional storms Wednesday.
