SYRINGES: WHAT TYPE WERE IN USE WHEN YOU WERE AT STANNINGTON? When I was first admitted to the Fleming Hospital in December 1970, they were using the plastic disposable type, the sort still in use today. This was also the case when I arrived at Stannington in January 1971. Heres a clip from a well known tv show - which was made as recently as 1969 - less than 2 years before I was admitted to the Fleming, and if you fast forward this episode to 19:58, you will notice that theyre using the old fashioned type, the sort that was sterilised after use and then re-used. I thought those type had been phased out long before 1969. Were plastic syringes a new thing in December 1970? https://youtube/watch?v=D1b6emtWO3w
