Sabbatical truth that God has dumped on me today: There are two mindsets that will reek havoc on the life of a Jesus follower and His ministers. The first is SELF IMPORTANCE -- believing the world revolves around you, believing your own press & believing you are somehow more important, more busy and should not be bothered by the needs of others. Celebrity replaces servanthood. But the second is SELF DEPRECATION -- not loving yourself at all, setting a ridiculous standard for yourself that you would never set for those you love or know. Thinking worse of yourself than God thinks of you. {let that last sentence sink in} When we truly see who we are in Christ and what His Word says about us, neither of these mindsets will be present in our lives. Until then, either mindset will keep us from experiencing the very best God has for us.
