Present alongside those who suffer in Syria and Lebanon for over a year, our teams work every day to provide vital humanitarian assistance to tens of thousands of families in a context each day a little more difficult. It is the greatest humanitarian crisis in recent years. While the world helplessly witnessing every day death toll in the number of civilians killed by shooting, bombing , disease, or hunger and negotiations stumble even on the humanitarian issue ... our teams have stop trying to always help more families to survive the war and its consequences. In northern Syria, which focuses quarter of IDPs in the country, INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY initiated for over a year now, with the support of its donors , programs of community sites. An action that has so far to 29,000 displaced people in several towns and villages in northern Aleppo to support their family : food, cooking gas , fuel for heating , soap, medicines ... This winter, we managed to organize the distribution of blankets, mattresses , carpets and floor coverings to improve the lives of nearly 500 families who find themselves in precarious habitats , says Rémi Carcassès . Shelling , dams road ... Our local teams must overcome great difficulties in everyday life to bring this vital assistance that we will deliver to 1,000 other families in February. I would like to pay tribute to their work and their commitment . In Lebanon, when they were about 30 000 in June 2012 , nearly one million Syrians flocked to date in this country of 4 million people. Refugees are more numerous every week to settle in makeshift camps and other fragile habitats buildings under construction, abandoned buildings , ruined houses ... Since March 2013, our teams are involved in the two districts of Zgharta and Minia - Denniyeh , northwest of the country. 60,000 families are refugees. We bring 20,000 people enough to build or repair their shelter , as well as hygiene kits, water filters , kits and winter , especially for newcomers waiting to be recorded , food aid , lists Caroline Bedos , head of mission there. Finally, because the lack of access to water and unsanitary living conditions were identified among the major risks for refugee families , especially children , our teams build and rehabilitate water points , install toilets and connected buildings and informal settlements to municipal water systems. The pressure of refugees being felt on the countrys resources , we also conduct two rehabilitation projects of public water supply infrastructure for the Syrian refugee population and the Lebanese population. 8,000 people will benefit.
