Safety and Security Manager Cape Town, Western Cape Safety & Security Manager The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is so much more than just another convention centre. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager. The Purpose of the role: To oversee, lead and guide the organization in all Safety and Security matters, so as to ensure the optimal security of the facility, while simultaneously ensuring that the CTICC adheres to all applicable SHEQ legislation, and that the maintenance of the ISO processes is upheld. Functional Requirements Manage Service Level Agreements People Management Qualifications: Matric/Grade 12 Certificate Must be PSIRA Grade A registered and accredited SAMTRAC or NEBOSCH (International certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) Specialized training in safety administration and construction safety inspection In depth Knowledge of: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2000 and OHSA 18001 systems Required experience: At least 10 years’ experience in the Safety and Security environment. Hospitality knowledge a pre-requisite. Minimum 5 years management experience in leading a Safety and Security function essential. Managerial experience at a middle/senior management level essential. Must have 3 – 5 years’ experience within Environmental Management and Health and Safety Management. Must have knowledge on Security Service Providers and drafting of SLA’s. Proven ability in security management, access control and other related aspects. Experience in supervising Security, Safety, Emergencies and Crisis Management related disciplines. Demonstrated satisfactory written and oral communication skills in prior positions with fluent command of English to effectively compose and edit technical documents; Ability to independently research technical documents, interpret and organize data and information as required; Ability to facilitate meetings and obtain consensus; Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted. Crisis management and/or Risk Management role for a multinational would be highly desirable, with experience of managing the safety or risk function. Must have valid driver’s license and own transport Remuneration will be discussed with the successful candidate.
