Idag släpptes den första trailern till Disneys Maleficent med Angelina Jolie (Changeling, Girl, Interrupted ) i huvudrollen som den onda fen som också gett namn åt filmen. Maleficent syntes första gången i Törnrosa – ett av Walt Disneys mest vågade projekt, som stilmässigt saknade motstycke när den kom 1959 – och har blivit en av bolagets mest populära antagonister. Hon är också den första Disneyskurken som beäras med en helt egen film. Vi får nu se hela berättelsen om hur den onda fen blev elak och förutom Jolie medverkar bland annat Elle Fanning (Ginger i årets Peace & Love Film Festivals centerpiece Ginger & Rosa) som princessan Aurora och Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises) som fen Thistletwit. Bakom denna film står bland annat den tvåfaldigt oscarbelönade art directorn och visuelle mångsysslaren Robert Stromberg (Alice i Underlandet, Avatar) som debuterar i rollen som regissör. En annan debutant i sammanhanget är manusförfattaren Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman möter mörkrets hämnare) som för första gången skrivit för en spelfilm, tillsammans med Linda Woolverton (Alice i Underlandet) och John Lee Hancock (Snow White and the Huntsman). Today the first trailer for Disneys Maleficent was released, starring Angelina Jolie (Changeling, Girl, Interrupted ) as the wicked witch, whos name also titles the film. Maleficent was first seen in Sleeping Beauty - one of Walt Disneys bravest projects, totally unique in style when it premiered in 1959 – and has since become one of the companys most popular antagonists. She is also the first Disney villain honored with a film of her own. We now get to see the whole story on how the wicked witch got bad and alongside Jolie the film also stars Elle Fanning (Ginger in this years Peace & Love Film Festival centerpiece Ginger & Rosa) as princess Aurora and Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises) as the pixie Thistletwit. One of the creators behind this film is two time Oscar winning art director and visual jack-of-all-trades, Robert Stromberg (Alice in Wonderland, Avatar) who is debuting as a director. Another first-timer for this project is writer Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm) who does his first screenplay for a live action film, together with Linda Woolverton (Alice in Wonderland) och John Lee Hancock (Snow White and the Huntsman).
