Saidah Eddie Elliot Aja Sean et al... Today is shaping up to be pretty busy but here are a few folks I hate in the world of EDM... Part 5: Zedd Saved the best for last... I HATE this guy almost as much as Diplo. Yet another idiot kid with far more success than taste or talent, his entire shtick makes my blood boil. Its not his twinky looks or his dorky Traktor rig. Its not the gigantic entourage of handlers and babysitters that leech off of his outsize success. Its not even the fact that he commands fees that are literally orders of magnitude greater than any DJ I actually respect. Its the fact that his music is simply awful. The production is overcompressed, bereft of dynamics, unsubtle and ugly. The vocals are overprocessed, poorly performed and irritating beyond belief. And lets not even get started with the content... If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?/ If our loves insanity, why are you my clarity? This makes the generally terrible domain of vocal house lyricism read like Shakespeare...
