Saif Ali Khan & Rani Mukerji to fight it off at the box-office 2004 - This was the year when Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji had come together on screen for HUM TUM and created some adorable chemistry on screen. Circa 2014, and it wont be the same again for the two actors as they would be battling it out, what with Saifs HAPPY ENDING deciding to arrive on the same day as Ranis MARDAANI. The date that has been set for the face-off is 22nd August, which has been finalized after much deliberation. For Saif Ali Khan, it is a good time period to arrive as he wanted to space out his films well. Since HUMSHAKALS is arriving this month, a gap of two months between the respective entertainers by directors Sajid Khan and Krishna-Raj is expected to be apt. There is a marked difference between HAPPY ENDING and MARDAANI though as latter is a gritty dramatic action tale that presents Rani in a never-seen-before role. Incidentally, both films have been pushed ahead by a few weeks but would be eventually clashing with each other. As it is a known fact, just a few weeks back, Yash Raj Films had announced a new calendar for their films, due to which MARDAANI was pushed ahead. Now Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla too have worked around their lineup, as a result of which HAPPY ENDING is confirmed for 22nd August. When contacted, officials at Eros confirmed the developments. As for YRF, they have already made the release announcement public. Meanwhile, with Saif and Rani all set to battle it out, one waits to see if Bipasha Basu too keeps her date with CREATURE, which too has been eyeing 22nd August arrival, after being originally planned for June.
