Saint Ludger was an Ordained Minister of the Catholic Church, born in 745 in Suescnon in Phrygia .... His priesthood was performed in 777 and began evangelizing his own land, where had been martyred the First Great Evangelist of Germany, Saint Bonifacius ... Saint Ludger had there many difficulties because the method for implanting Christianity by the Emperor Charlemagne was imposing ... he went to Italy and became Benedictine in Montecasino ... the Emperor himself called him again to come to Germany to continue his apostolic work .... he founded the city of Münster in 793 around a Benedictine monastery, and he became the first bishop of that city ....he died in 809 ....
