Saints of God, Our God is a good God. We are going far with this God of Ezekiel Guti. What a Sunday service it was with our beloved DPs Luvy and Praise Mlilo. The man of God in this city shared a powerful word before the saints went on to give sacrificially to the Lord God Almighty. Nehemiah 1:2-4 Nehemiah is a man whose leadership style I admire. Sacrifice means to give up something valuable in order to attain something more important. I will not be able to obtain the thing that I desire until I am able to give something that I cherish. In order for God to have the church he loved he had to give Jesus. If you want to know how important to God you are look at the extent to which God went to just have you. Money could not buy you it was only the blood of Jesus that could buy you. In order for Abraham to have the nation of Israel he had to give up Isaac. There is an Israel in your Isaac. There is a house in your sacrifice. God said to himself if I need people like Jesus I have to sow Jesus. Jesus is the prototype and we are like him. In Isaac was hidden a nation. When Rebecca conceived there was a struggle in her womb and God said you are carrying two nations. I am carrying something bigger than me. You are carrying nations in you. In order for Paul to obtain the knowledge and life of Jesus he had to give up something. Jesus gave up his divinity in order to gain mankind. Nehemiah was the king’s cup-bearer which was a position of importance. A king has so many enemies and it was easy to kill him by food, Nehemiah had to test the wine for poison before the king drank it. If it had poison he would die in the king’s place. Nehemiah had a very high position and if it was just about being a cup-bearer he would not be recorded in the bible. Nehemiah asked about the welfare and state of affairs in Jerusalem. He was yet still concerned although he was sitting in a good position. Leadership begins with a concern and not a position. He was told the people are in distress and disgrace. This to Nehemiah was not a laughing matter although he was not staying in Jerusalem. Leadership is about solving peoples problems. Leadership begins with a burden. Nehemiah conceived in his spirit a burden because of the news of the state of the Jews. The burden drove Nehemiah to his knees. What must wake you up in the morning is a burden not an alarm. A burden will give you strength. He had no prayer commander, no instrument, no praise and worship but a burden. We struggle to make people pray because they do not have a burden. When you have a burden sleep flees away from you. Dont force anyone to pray, they is nothing in them that drives them to pray. Nehemiah was forced by his burden to pray and to fast yet he was working in the kitchen. Most people are driven to fast and pray for their own problems. A leader who is not ready to fast, pray and make your burden his burden then he is not ready for leadership. Can you cry for your believer, neighbour like you cry for yourself? What qualifies people to be leaders is not a position but a burden. Nehemiah conceived a burden before he got a position. A burden is the only thing that qualifies you to serve not position. Nehemiahs heart was broken because of hearing the state of the house of the Lord, he could not eat. If the state of the house of the Lord cannot make you cry then I do not know what else can. If you can treat the house of the Lord like your own house and you come hear and open your eyes you will pray for the house of God. How many have seen the state of the house of God and it made them cry. We do not value the house of God, in your house you do not throw papers down but you have the audacity to leave papers in the church. During the days of Jesus he went to Jerusalem and saw what was happening in the house of God, there are people who come to the house of God for different reasons. People in Jerusalem were now selling the animals for sacrifice to those who had travelled long distance. When Jesus arrived he noticed disorder and said anyone who propels disorders I am against you. He says this is not a house of merchandise but a house of prayer. No wonder why there was a man by the beautiful gate he knew people had money as they would be trading in the temple. Reverse the disorder. So many times we tolerate sin because we do not have a passion for the house of God. The zeal of the Lord has consumed me. We do not just need demon chasers we need people chasers to chase away the elements which cause disorder. Nehemiah had a need and a burden but he had no resources. You dont need resources in order to have a burden but you need a burden in order to have access to resources. When you have a burden God will provide the resources. The Lord will supply all you needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. The moment Nehemiah conceived a burden he was sad and the king noticed it and said why are you sad not like most of us who are sad because of headache. The only thing that is not ok to you is your house, you spouse, but you cant see anything that is amiss in the house of God. 1 Chronicles 29:1- David is telling the people about a house of God that was to be built when he was not around, but because of his love for God he had to prepare for it. David says this is the house of a great God. Because of my love and affection for God I have given from my personal treasure. Unless you make this church yours you will not be able to feel anything for it. A Crab mother said to her children I want you to want straight and I will beat you until you walk straight. She was angry with her children and beat them until they said mother we can’t walk straight please demonstrate. Show us how to give, demonstrate to us. Love is not love until you give. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. Saints of God, What a God we serve, the church of God lead by the DPs then went on to give unto God freely and with joy as it was the Sacrificial Sunday. Our God is a good God. As ever let us pray for these our dear and beloved DPs Luvy and Praise Mlilo servants of the most high God given to us by God and for the great patriarchs of our time the servants and apostles of God, visionaries of this great ministry Forward In Faith Ezekiel and Eunor Guti. Our God is a good God. 1 Chronicles 29:3 ““And now, because of my devotion to the Temple of my God, I am giving all of my own private treasures of gold and silver to help in the construction. This is in addition to the building materials I have already collected for his holy Temple.”
