Sajana Phula Rai (Recipe by Debashis Biswal) ================================= Ingredients: sajana phula 1 medium onion – chopped fine 2 pods garlic – crushed, will be used as toppings at the end 2 table spoons mustard oil 1 teaspoon pancha phutana mixture 2 tablespoon Posta Bata (Optional) 2 tablespoon Besara Bata (Optional) 1 pinch turmeric powder salt to taste chilli powder to taste Method: ========= 1. De-stem the flower carefully. Phula apekhya kadha besi tasty. Besi kadha rahile bhala 2. Wash and drain it. 3. Boil the flower with little bit of turmeric and salt just to remove the astrigent (Kasa portion same way being used for Kadali Manja). Boil for 5 mins max. Kasa pani ta bahari gale bhala. Bina boil kariki bhi kari paribe. 4. Heat the oil, sputter the pancha phutana and chopped onion. 5. Cut potatoes and brinjal into small cubic pieces and wash them well. Keep them aside... 6. Now add potatoes and brinjal pieces into them . Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to taste. 7. Let it simmer for 5-7 mins. 8. Now time to add the boiled Sajana phula.
