Sakala receives CAPAM ( Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management) 2014 Award (21.10.2014) Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) represents an international network of 1,100 senior public servants, heads of government, leading academics and researchers from over 50 Commonwealth countries. CAPAMs establishment is one of the initiatives of the Commonwealth Association for promoting the practice of good governance, fair and honest government as outlined in the Declaration of the Commonwealth Heads of Government in Harare, Zimbabwe. About 1,200 delegates from 53 countries attended the conference themed Public Service Transformation: A New Conversation which was organized in collaboration with the Malaysian Government and the Commonwealth Secretariat, the event was opened by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 19-10-2014. Over 60 working papers were presented at the conference by speakers from the participating Commonwealth countries and international organisations such as the World Bank and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The four categories for the International Innovation Awards are 1. Innovation in Public Service Management, 2. Innovation in Citizen Engagement and Dialogue, 3. Innovative Use of Technology in the Public Sphere, and 4. Innovation in Government Services and Programmes. The winners are 1. Sakala Mission, India won the Innovations in Public Service Management Award. 2. Trinidad and Tobagos Office of the Prime Minister won the Innovations in Citizen Engagement and Dialogue Award. 3. Kumbh Mela, India was the winner of the Innovations in Government Services and Programmes Award. 4. Royal Malaysian Polices Safe City Monitoring, got the Innovative Use of Technology in the Public Service Award.
