Sales Team Leader Position - South Region (based in Blantyre) A. Job identification A1 Job title: Sales Team Leader – South Region A2 Department: Sales A3 Job Reports to: Operations Director A4 Direct reports: Sales Representatives and Logistics Officer B1 Overall purpose of the job To help SunnyMoney Malawi meet its annual sales targets by making sure that solar lights, phone chargers and home systems are effectively distributed in all four corners of the South Region districts. A strong organised leader is needed. B3 Current duties of the job School and Chief Promotion Sales - To carry out high level introduction meetings with District Education Managers, Paramount Chiefs and VS&L District Committees - To conduct information meetings with head teachers, traditional leaders and VS&L representatives from time to time - To insure that the sales team is selling effectively solar products to head teachers traditional leaders and VS&L representatives during delivery meetings (by truck or public transport) from time to time - To insure that the sales team is effectively carrying out sales deliveries once the school/chief-vs&l promotion campaigns have ended. Agent Sales -To optimize the recruitment and development solar agents in all dynamic trading centres and BOMAS of the region. - To generate new corporate sales leads - To provide extra support to agents located in Discover/ECRP areas Marketing - To introduce new promotions, products, prices and documentation to all active head teachers and agents - To monitor solar lights competitors’ activities - To carry out promotional activities with the sales team and top agents Planning and Reporting - To review weekly and monthly sales projections of the team members - To monitor daily sales report and stock count of the team members - To review weekly budgets of the team members - To report weekly expenses against the approved budgets - To provide regularly feedback to the Sales Representatives and Logistics Officer - To lead sales and office meetings - To maintain an open channel of communications with the Operations Director and provide regular reports and updates Human Resources - To lead the South region sales team - To motivate the sales team and insure that the sales targets and other obligations are met within the budget limits. - To insure that the stock management and the shipment of orders are optimised. Support Work - To liaise with the Call Centre and other departments to ensure the smooth roll out of the school and chief promos and agent activities. - To liaise with the logistics team for any product or shipment requirements - Any other required duties to help the overall performance of the organisation C Job requirements Experience & Education Essential - Certificate in business management, administration or marketing - Five years of working experience - Willingness to work in the field 3-5 days per week, every week, all year long. Desirable - Two years of retail sales experience Knowledge & Skills Essential - Sales and organisational skills, leadership, maturity, integrity, oral communications, team player, energetic, positive thinking - Excellent written and spoken English - Proven computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, etc.) - Clean Driving Licence with at least one year of experience - Ability to work independently, in teams and a multicultural environment Desirable - Knowledge of renewable energies including solar. - Physically fit to carry boxes up to 25 Kg - Good knowledge of the South Region Geography Terms and conditions - Six months’ probation period, then 12 months contract - Salary range commensurate with work experience, education and skills - Notice period: one week within probationary period, one month thereafter. - Opportunities for training and personal development will be made available once the person has been confirmed in his/her posting. - Frequent travel within the South Region and around the country is required - Only candidates with the legal right to work now in Malawi will be considered.
