Salman Khan to quit Bigg Boss 8, Farah steps in as new host... Reality show gets a months extension, but Salman wont continue... Last year, Bollywood director Farah Khan came on Indian reality show Bigg Boss to tell contestants how to behave with host Salman Khan. This year, she has taken over the host himself! Yes, you heard it right; Farah Khan will step into Salman Khans shoes to become the host of Bigg Boss 8. According to reports, Bigg Boss 8, which was supposed to end on 4 January, will now end in February. The show has been extended by a month, however, Salman Khan will host only till January, after which Farah Khan will take over the role. Salmans contract expires in January and he will be shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan after that. There was no way Salman could accommodate the new schedule in his choc-a-bloc diary. However, there has been no official confirmation from the channel or the filmmaker on it yet. DNA reports that the production team had a meeting with the contestants for almost an hour and discussed the idea of extending the show for a month. Most of the contestants inside the house have agreed for it. According to another report, the production team first approached Karan Johar, and then Anil Kapoor to replace Khan. However, both of them refused. Hence, Farah who apparently loves the show was asked to come on board. We have to wait and watch how the choreographer-director will turn out to be as the Bigg Boss host. This also raises a question - Will we ever see Salman return as Bigg Boss host? It is well known that Salman had several differences with the makers of the show and coxing him to host season 8 was a Himalayan task. However, with Farahs entry it looks like Salman is paving the way for a new host of the show. The channel believes the show is doing really well and the TRPs have shown a drastic improvement from the first few weeks, and they dont want to lose out on the numbers.
