Salvation is Christ-centered. To be saved, one must be in Christ, - TopicsExpress

Salvation is Christ-centered. To be saved, one must be in Christ, or perhaps more simply, one must have a relationship of acceptance of Christ as Savior. But realize, the story of salvation did not begin in the manger. 1 Peter 1:20-21 says, “For He [Christ] was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you, who through Him, are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” The word ‘foreknown’ from the original translation means ‘actively involved in,’ which tells us in no uncertain terms that Christ was not just present for, but rather was an active participant in the creation of the world. Christ was an architect of the Plan for the universe, including our world... and our salvation. He is the author and perfecter of our faith. Before God created the world, before the sixth day, when He created man, He knew that we would be tempted and fall out of grace by sin. God knew that we would mess things up, even before He formed us into being. Our sin did not take God by surprise. In fact He had a plan to deal with it even before it occurred! As the scripture says, “He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love.”Ephesians 1:5 says that we were “predestined to be His children through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will.” Think for a moment what that means in terms of the creation story. Each of us was chosen by our Creator before the world was made, to be reconciled out of the bondage of sin by Jesus Christ, so that we could be with the Father, because He loves us and wants us to be near Him. Here’s the point: the gift of your salvation was not an afterthought. God didn’t sit stewing in heaven about how man had messed things up and then decide that His only option to get His wayward children back was to go to Plan B. And, Plan B was not when God the Father went to God the Son and said, “Well, I guess somebody’s gonna have to clean this mess up and pay for all the damages…” God didn’t mess up when He created us and then have to re-think everything He had created! God is a God of second chances, not a God of second guesses! His plan for our salvation is not the result of His miscalculation during the creation process. Our God is omniscient. He is all-knowing. It is His character. God knew before the foundation of the world… God knew before He created us that this is the way it would go. We would fall, we would die, we would be separated from Him, we would spend our eternity apart from Him in hell except… except if we chose Christ as our Savior. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit – three persons, one God – laid out the plan in the beginning, before everything was made. What a magnificent plan! Not Plan B! People, this was Plan A all along! So please while you read this make a decision in your heart, and pray to God the Father, invite him in your life to your savior of your life. Bro.
