Sam, Lilly, and Luke participated in an awesome camp this summer. It is called Spirit of America and is a boating camp where they learned how to operate various watercraft, including sailboats, kayaks, canoes, motor boats, jet skis, and even stand up paddle boards (SUP). At graduation they have earned an official boating license that is good for the rest of their lives! The kids spent time with the local coast guard with a tour of their headquarters and a chance to drive their boat on Lake Erie. It was truly and awesome experience and they cant wait to go back as helpers next year. Sam is hooked on sailing and wants to buy his own sailboat. The best part of all is that the whole week was free! This program started here near Cleveland, but it is in several states now. I recommend this to everyone with kids who are 11-15 years old!
