Sam Raimi will continue to be one of my favorite directors. Not because of the three crappy Spider-Man films...not even Darkman...nor The Quick and the Dead... It all goes to Evil Dead. I love the film, but that is still not the reason I respect and even idolize him so much. This guy, barely 20 years old, put everything on the line to make the film. The production was plagued by illness, stuff not working, no money, anything and everything that could go wrong...went wrong. He kept pushing though. He believed in his vision and stuck through all the shit to make a movie that will forever be one of my favorites. I have a ton of respect for his creative genious. I have often put my dream of directing on the back burner...but have never given up. Sam Raimi is one reason why. He never gave up and created a horror icon. Hail to the King
