Same thing this week, I, Trystan, saw Transformer 4 with a group of friend at midnight while Jakob did not. So we wont be filming this week so another written review. Well...while sitting in front the near to the screen of the theater, I saw tons of images just assaulting me with sounds and lighting effects. It is Michael Bay films which in the past didnt have that effect on me. It could be I sat too close or this movie was Michael Bay phoning this in. I say sorta both because half of my friends didnt have that affect on them and I sat that close in Revenge of the Fallen and it have that affect for me. With that said, there is aspect that are consider entertaining and unintentional hilarious like Kelsey Grammer and that one guy from CSI I think, but for me anyway, it isnt for a theater price. It is too loud, and too too obnoxious for me that I hated it. Not as bad as Transformer 2 where that was just like Michael Bay shoving a sharp porcupine up his actors asses. Mark Wahlberg was entertaining to watch while comic relief wasnt bad since it was TJ Miller who is a comic. Also, feel bad for the girl who plays Bays hot chick since she was Katara from Last Airbender which is another horrid movie based off of an animated series. Enjoy the voice acting from John Goodman to Bender or Jake the Dog playing a Scotsman robot(aka Bay tries to make the voice actor embarrass as all hell, remember Tom Kenny was one of the racist twin bots from Revenge of the Fallen). CGI and effect was just a typical Michael Bay movie. Everything else from editing, story telling(yes, storytelling is important for a dumb action movie, Independence Day have clear cut story that is dumb, but it is more of a story than this huge splodge of a movie), cinematography(even though pretty nice at times, but most of the time assaulting), and sound design is just lame and sucks HARD. Edit- Optimus Primus isnt just a speechifying wise guy and instead a surprisingly interesting character in this Transformer. Also, it felt like some executive figured out that next year Days of Future Past was coming this year asked the screenwriter to read the comic and steal some plot point from that material, but thats just some assumption.
