Samir Nasri has branded Gunners fans “stupid” for taunting him over his move to Manchester City and claims he was never in love with Arsenal. Arsenal fans have not forgiven Nasri for joining City in a £25million deal and taunt the Frenchman for being a money-grabbing mercenary. But the 27-year-old playmaker believes they need to move on after insisting the motivation to switch to City was to win trophies, not a fatter pay packet. He said: “I just think the abuse I get is stupid. I’m not an Arsenal fan, I am not from London. “If the fans can’t move on it’s too bad. I am not trying to have a problem with that. They do what they have to do and they love their club. “They see that as a treason or that I betrayed them but it’s not that. I’m not like that. I just look what’s best for me and that’s what Bacary Sagna did, what Emmanuel Adebayor did and what Kolo Toure did. “For the fans the only reason has to be for the money. But it isn’t just for the money. Despite winning two league titles and the Capital One Cup in his three seasons at the Etihad Stadium, Nasri is not inclined to gloat about his medal haul to Arsenal’s support. He said: “I am in debt to Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. I am this player today because of him. But I don’t think I need to explain myself. What I have achieved with Manchester City should be enough.” And there will not be a love-in any time soon, with Nasri also writing off their title hopes for the new campaign after allowing Chelsea to snatch Cesc Fabregas from the Nou Camp. He said: “For me, Chelsea will be the biggest threat to our title. “Cesc is a great player, I know because I was with him at Arsenal. Chelsea had a weakness up front and signed Diego Costa who had a great season last year. They lost Ashley Cole and they signed Filipe Luis. “Arsenal have bought Alexis Sanchez, but to me they have a weakness at defensive midfield and at centre-back. But they will still be dangerous. Sanchez has the quality, he is a great player but the Premier League is not La Liga
