Sandra Laars to friends. Last week was very sad for the whole - TopicsExpress

Sandra Laars to friends. Last week was very sad for the whole family. The sadness still overcome us as soon as we reminded of our dear sister that passed. I had time to look over her computer and with a tear in my eyes, I read the following letter from her. My name is Sandra Laars, born 16 December 1990 and I am a cancer survivor and sufferer. I was raised in a suburb of Johannesburg called Randburg. I lost both my parents at an early age from Cancer, so I know that cancer was in my genes. After both my parents passed away, I was adopted by a great family that treated me like their own child. They have one other son called Samual, now my step brother. He was the one that took me to chemo therapy and held my hand while the poison flowed through my veins when cancer struck the first time. After getting home, Sam would go back to school attending his evening classes, my step mom would be with me while I vomited my lungs out due to the chemo. My friends at school visited me on regular bases and helped me to keep my school work up to date. My friends knew what I was going through as the teachers made sure that they had all the information that they needed. Thank you to my teachers and school friends that stood by me during that trying time in my life. But I managed to beat the cancer once. I thought that the cancer hit me once, it would leave me alone till I was an old lady, I was wrong. On the 28th of August 2013 I received the news that the cancer was back. I told myself that I can beat it again like I did before. On the second of September I was scheduled for scans to find the extent of the cancer. I was sad to find out that the cancer cannot be pinpointed to one part of my body. The cancer has already spread to all the major organs and the chances on successful treatment were slim to none. I fought with God and asked why me again. My doctor gave me 3-6 months at the most. Well, I am currently in hospital as my kidneys started giving problems due to the cancer. I am in pain and the staff at the hospital is taking real good care of me. Sam is visiting me every day, but I can see that he is very sad. My parents are also with me when they can be. They all look so sad, but I am a fighter and I will fight to the end. I am still positive that this is a temporary setback that I will overcome and will be able to spend more time with my family. This is my story in short and will update you when I am home again which I hope will be soon. All my love to all my friends, Sandra. She knew her time was here. Thank you Ewan for all your assistance. The family really appreciate it. As the family, we will be requesting the closure of her FB account soon.
