Santa Fe, NM Rep. Michele Bachman did it again! Just when I thought we had heard the last from her, she has expounded a new theory about the unaccompanied minors fleeing violence in Central America. According to Michelle, they’re part of a liberal plot to use unwilling children for medical experiments. I’m not making this us. Yesterday she was quoted as saying: “Now President Obama is trying to bring all those foreign nationals, those illegal aliens to the country and he has said that he will put them in the foster care system. That’s more kids that you can see how – we can’t imagine doing this, but if you have a hospital and they are going to get millions of dollars in government grants if they can conduct medical research on somebody, and a ward of the state can’t say ‘no,’ a little kid can’t say ‘no’ if they’re a ward of the state; so here you could have this institution getting millions of dollars from government to do medical experimentation and a kid can’t even say ‘no.’ It’s sick.” Actually, Michele, you’re sick. You also thought the HPV virus would lead to mental retardation when you said in an interview on Fox “news” (September 12, 2011) that a mother told you “her little daughter took that vaccine, that injection, and she suffered from mental retardation thereafter.” Michele has always had trouble getting her facts straight. When launching her presidential campaign in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa, she claimed movie star John Wayne was from Waterloo. In fact, he was from Winterset, Iowa; John Wayne Gacy, however, a notorious serial killer, hailed from the town where Michelle grew up. When describing the Tea Party at the CPAC conference (March 2014), Michele said “Our movement at its core is an intellectual movement.” Really, Michele? The best you and the other Mad Hatter Sarah Palin could ever pull off would be an Alice in Wonderland-style tea party. Together, you have set the women’s movement back decades. I will not miss you, Michele.
