Santa’s Interview The following interview was found on “Youtube”. It’s an interview with a jolly short fat man that looks a lot like Santa Claus. James Stacy is a well-known reporter in the Miami area. The place was a beach in Ft. Lauderdale. The Santa Claus was sitting on a beach chair looking out over the ocean. Mr. Stacy was sitting next to him. “Sir, you say your name is Santa Claus, the one and only?” “Yep that’s me.” “It’s mid-October. Shouldn’t you be at the North Pole making toys for Christmas?” “Not anymore. We had to close shop at that location.” “Close shop? Why?” “Global warming. All the ice was melting and the workshop was collapsing.” “Where did you move too?” “China.” “You moved the workshop to China? So all the elves moved there?” “No exactly.” “Can you elaborate?” “The elves union was asking for higher wages and health benefits. China has always made toys cheap, so I fired all the elves and outsourced all my work to China. Now I can direct operations from here and enjoy the sun. You know I’m not getting any younger. The cold was really bothering my joints.” “You talk like giving gifts to children around the world is a business.” “It is a business. I make a very good profit off of it.” “How can you make a profit giving away toys?” “You know all those ads you see staring me?” “Yes.” “Well I’m a trademark. I‘m copyrighted. Every time an ad appears somewhere with me I get paid big bucks.” “That’s impressive.” “That’s only the small stuff. The really big bucks are from all the movies about me. And of course don’t forget the songs.” “Still, you have a lot of overhead making the toys and delivering them and not make any money.” “Who said I didn’t make any money off making and delivering toys? I have an unwritten contract with every parent that wants a toy delivered by me. You can make a lot of money off “’Shipping and Handling.’”
