Sappho Found!!!! Greg Slater brought Richard Gass, the hiker who found Sappho halfway to Miette this morning to our campsite at about 9am. He had braved sapphos bark and scared snapping and coaxed her up to the road. As soon as sappho saw his car she willingly hopped (or at this point there isnt much hop left in her!). Into the back of his car. We are feeding her slowly and loving her up in a kind of manic way:). The experience overall has been obviously incredibly trying, but the love and support, care and generosity of the jasper community and beyond has been deeply healing for us. Chris Roy spent days with us, donating his superb guiding skills, his cultivated equanimity and radiating peace, as well as delicious soup and ipad charging. Kerri Jackson and her wonderful husband Hal from Hinton initiated us into back country tromping and shared their wonderful dogs with us. Every one in the park services and the info center were supper patient, helpful and kind. We got the best oatmeal cookies from Mrs. Greg Slater. Kris Beeby came out and tromped and many many of you kept your eyes peeled and your prayers strong, all of which helped us to stay sane and strong until it were made whole again. Thankyou also Sue Catto for the virtual hand holding and real time offerings for poster maiking and dispathcing, ideas and post sharing. Laura baclean may have made the love sign on our camping table but im not sure which angel it was......:) We also want to thank Pocohontas Motel for their kindness and generosity with photocopying and wifi and encouragement. You have all been just wonderful and it is ofcourse a huge thing to have her home, but the healing of faith in humanity throughout this has also been a significant experience. Thankyou for giving us the gift of feeling a part of this incredible community. Much love and whoooffffffing Catherine, John and Sappho
