Sarah Ghag shared: Stop Kinder Morgan on Burnaby Mtn Ive been reading a lot of arguments going back and forth regarding the RCMP/VPD being on site at the mountain. Some people defending them its their job with others outraged that KM is getting private security using our tax dollars from a police force meant to protest US. So a friend sent me this video today, and I think its something for those defending the cops to take note of. Yes, I have spoken to some incredibly respectful police officers on the mountain, but I cannot look past this undemocratic process and how they are supporting a corrupt corporation with an agenda to destroy the land, which holds zero respect for the rights and wishes of First Nations peoples on unceded Coast Salish territories. Not to mention the horrifying images of brutal tactics used against the land defenders (choking, knocking down an elderly woman, unprovoked arrests and continued aggressiveness/pushing/shoving against women at the front line which I personally witnessed).
