Sarcoidosis is a disease caused by small areas of inflammation which can affect any part of the body, but is most common in the lungs – called pulmonary sarcoidosis. Most people have never even heard of sarcoidosis, let alone know the symptoms. Those suffering from pulmonary sarcoidosis may experience a dry cough, shortness of breath and/or mild chest pain. When sarcoidosis appears in other parts of the body, sufferers may experience a scaly rash, red bumps on the legs, fever, sore eyes and/or swollen, painful ankles. More general symptoms like fatigue, weakness, fever and weight loss may occur. If you are experiencing the symptoms mention, talked to your physician about testing for sarcoidosis.
