Saro Wiwa, Isaac Jasper Boro, Abacha, others and the Centenary - TopicsExpress

Saro Wiwa, Isaac Jasper Boro, Abacha, others and the Centenary award. I have heard the outcry that Saro Wiwas name wasnt on the list of recipients for the centenary award . The same set of people, or most of them have also queried why Abachas name should be there. In seeking answers to the questions, it would be fine to understand some things. In trying to understand these things, I just have some simple questions to ask. 1. What was it that Saro Wiwa, Isaac Boro, Asari Dokubo fought for? 2. Were those pursuits expressly for the oneness, peace and unity of the 100 years old Nigeria? 3. Are they heroes of Ogoni, Niger Delta, Ijaw, respectively, or heroes of Nigeria? 4. What was Abachas goal in challenging the Saro Wiwa actions? 5. Was Abachas act in line with his duty to protect and promote the sovereignty and continuous existence of Nigeria? 6. What is the difference between what Abacha did and what Yakubu Gowon did to Ojukwus Biafra? 7. Isnt this the same Abacha we were told, a delegation of Ogonis went to say thank you to, after the execution of Ken Saro Wiwa? 8. What was the difference between Ojukwu, Isaac Boro, Asari Dokubo, and Saro Wiwa? 9. What difference is there between Gowon against Biafra, Abacha against Saro Wiwa, Obasanjo against Odi, Obasanjo against Asari Dokubo, etc? 10. If the awards was for contribution to national unity, harmonious and peaceful existence of Nigeria, who should be the real recipients? WARNING!!! If you have value to add, bring it on. If you do not, dont bother commenting. I will not tolerate incivility on this thread! EBCO DOracle.
