Sasha Wass gave her vitriolic summing up for The Prosecution on the Wednesday. Then, Rolfs defence lawyer was taken ill. The Court *was* adjourned for a few days over the weekend, due to re-start on the following Monday. (Id incorrectly stated in an earlier post that this didnt happen. My apologies) It seems that The Defence team delivered their Summing Up speech on either Monday, 16th June, or Tuesday, 17th June and this was delivered by junior barrister, Simon Ray, who was standing in for Sonia Woodley, Rolfs main lawyer, who ended up being hospitalized for an illness. This meant that The Jury had at least 5 or 6 days where the ONLY summing up evidence going through their minds was that of The Prosecution, Sasha Wass. 5/6 days to think deeply about what shed said, without having anything to balance those thoughts out with, other than what had already taken place in Court, obviously. But there was no gathering together of the major facts to DEFEND Rolf for a LONG time after Wass had spoken. And why was a JUNIOR barrister allowed to take the place of Ms. Woodley at such an important and vital trial, where 4 main complainants and 7 lesser ones, from abroad, had ALL brought allegations against Rolf, having not an OUNCE of EVIDENCE and not a SINGLE Witness to any allegation. It is notoriously hard to deal with just ONE such case, but ELEVEN such cases? The summing up should have been given by one of the TOP lawyers in Rolfs team, and even though Simon was beside Ms. Woodley, throughout the trial, they should have had someone else there too, of equal legal status, who could have instantly stepped into her shoes, if they were needed...and...they were. I do not mean to disparage the junior barrister here, but Rolfs team MUST have known that Wass had tried (and succeeded) in neutralizing the reputation of Rolf, and Bindi too, using everything she could to paint them as darkly as possible in the eyes of the jury, the media and the public. There should have been a TOP lawyer there for Rolf who should have delivered a Summing Up which would have TORN APART every aspect of Wasss words.... The Defence even stated that Miss Leigh Park may have been mistaken about Rolf being the star she saw at Leigh Pk. Community Centre, saying these words and please read below them for why this was such a stupid thing, in my view, to say: ...The defence barrister said another of the four complainants may have seen someone else singing a Rolf Harris song at a community centre near Portsmouth in the late 1960s and mistakenly believed it was the Australian who then groped her when she asked for an autograph. She could honestly believe what shes saying, but still be wrong, Mr Ray said, adding the danger with honest but mistaken victims was that they could be very convincing.... I find this mind-blowingly UNBELIEVABLE because the song Two Little Boys did NOT come out until November 1969. This woman alleged shed seen Rolf around her 8th birthday, which was October 1969. Therefore, how could ANYONE ELSE have been SINGING this song??????? It is known that the police themselves admitted to The Defence they could find NOTHING to link Rolf to Leigh Park in any way, and this should have been shouted from the rooftops, as should the fact this woman was declared bankrupt in 2012/2013 and that the local paper, who printed NOT A WORD of this alleged appearance WOULD have COVERED their FRONT pages with the story of THE most MAJOR star in this country having been in their local community hall. WHY would The Defence use such a crappy and stupid idea when ANYONE can look up when Two Little Boys came out? This would have played RIGHT into the prosecutions hands, wouldnt it? These lawyers probably charged Rolf a FORTUNE. For WHAT, exactly? They could, in my opinion, have done so, SO much more and they should have come out at that Summing Up with All Top Legal Brains Blazing for their Client... someone else singing ????????? What they SHOULD have been screaming out was that Rolf was NEVER there in the FIRST place, else thered have been BUCKETLOADS of REAL EVIDENCE, in the local paper, in the Council Records, who book the hall, and in the fact that the local community, who have families whove lived there for GENERATIONS, Leigh Park being one of the biggest Council Estates in EUROPE, couldnt produce ONE photo of this event amongst them, nor come out with ANY REAL MEMORY, other than the two men who said theyd seen him there around the time of Diana Dors and Sid James visiting, when these two stars appeared TEN YEARS APART, as can be found EASILY via GOOGLE! Maybe they DID do all this and it just wasnt reported? In which case, WHY NOT? Maybe someone on this page was THERE and knows what was said?
