Satefy update for visitors: Despite the violence yesterday (Wednesday) in Cairo and in some of the major cities there have been no reports of any clashes or protests in the Marsa Alam area. There is no major town close to Marsa Alam. It is situated in a very remote and quiet part of Egypt. Marsa Alam and El Quseir are still safe and visitors are enjoying their holidays and being very warmly welcomed. The British Foreign Office detailed advice page regarding travel is not advising against travel to the Marsa Alam area. https://gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/egypt There has been no disruption to normal tourist activities and their visits are much appreciated by Egyptians who depend for their livelihoods on the continued confidence and goodwill of overseas visitors. Tourist activities and events have been continuing as normal.
