Saturday 12th October was a day of dance in Bonar Bridge Community - TopicsExpress

Saturday 12th October was a day of dance in Bonar Bridge Community Hall. Tutor Caroline Coomber from Elgin brought a support team with her in the shape of her husband Steve, Fiona and Iain Sneddon and Billy Martin. Four workshops had been arranged starting with modern ballroom and ending on a Latin note. More than forty people turned up, keen to improve their dancing skills and were soon going through the basics with every workshop starting from scratch and spending around half an hour on each dance. The ballroom selection in the morning proved the most popular, but more than half of the participants stayed around for the Latin sessions in the afternoon. At the end of these was the opportunity to relax and enjoy a finger buffet provided by Sally and Alex Thomson. A social dance was held in the evening for those who stayed and they were treated to some excellent demonstration dances by Fiona and Iain, the first being a selection of ballroom dances in costumes worthy of a television appearance. A little later they took to the floor, again in wonderful costumes to treat the audience to some beautiful Latin demonstrations. The day proved to be a great success and and it is hoped to have a follow up event early in the new year.
