Saturday; 16th November, 2013 THEME: UNTIL CHRIST BE FORMED IN YOU- Gal 4:19 Topic: SIXTH STEP TO OBTAINING DIVINE HELP And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Gen 2:9 KJV. After God had formed man, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a Living soul, God made to come out of the ground of that same Garden even the tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food. Today we want to look at this issue of PLEASANTNESS to the sight and GOODNESS for food. So many of us conclude over life issues because we have found out that some things are good for us. You know when people ask us HAVE YOU CONSIDERED IT? What they intend to ask is Have you looked deep into it beyond being good? This thing that look good, have you considered it? 1. GOOD FOR FOOD! We noticed that this was the exact word that EVE mentioned among her several words in Gen 3:6KJV. Infact, this statement is the first statement she actually mentioned the moment she considered eating the fruit. The Bible says she saw that the TREE IS GOOD FOR FOOD. That Eve has acknowledged that the TREE WAS GOOD FOR FOOD is not anything bad, it was a very good duty to take up. You must personally access anything coming your way as HELP and check if it is good at least on your own personal standard as you have learnt from the Lord. We will ask you if this offer you have wholeheartedly accepted is good for you. Is it good for you with your future in view or you only accepted it because there is no other option? Is that the best option life could afford you? Is it good for you brother and Sister? What you have actually welcomed as though it is a good offer, is it actually good for you? Food should nurture and supply nutrient to a man: these your devotions, are they nurturing and supplying nutrients to you or are they de-nurturing you? You need to deeply check it and see if it is actually good for you, is it the help you need? Food for thought: That it is GOOD does not mean it is PLEASANT 2. PLEASANT TO THE SIGHT! As much as PLEASANTNESS is another thing for us to consider but is it to the EYES or to the SIGHT? The second thing that EVE considered was that it was PLEASANT but EVE said it was PLEASANT TO THE EYES. Your EYES is different from your SIGHT: At a point Saul opened his eyes yet he didnt see. That you can open your eyes does not really mean that you can see. A disciple said EYES is an organ whereas SIGHT is what the eyes does: this means that EVE did not actually use her EYES. She made a life decision on a passive note. You dont actually need ordinary EYES to realize and acknowledge the HELP that God have to offer you; you need SIGHT. EYES only see the outward, nothing internal is opened to the EYES; it takes a man that have SIGHT to have INSIGHT. Food for thought: YOU need INSIGHT to see the INSIDE. Most of the time, great opportunities are embedded inside seeming unpleasant environment or atmosphere. If you are not using the eyes that God gave you, you are not likely to identify the HELP that God have to offer you. God displayed the HELP he prepared for Adam and Adam saw the Help and said THIS IS THE BONE OF MY BONES and THE FLESH OF MY FLESH. You will note that the first thing Adam noted is something that is not visible to the eyes. No eyes sees bones of the living human beings but Adam used his SIGHT. Is your SIGHT still intact as a Christian? The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them. Prov 20:12 KJV. Has God made for you the hearing ear and the seeing eyes?
