Saturday November 29 2014 Mormon 5:22-24 How can ye stand before the power of God, except ye shall repent and turn from your evil ways? Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God? Know ye not that he hath all power . . . ? Therefore, repent ye, and humble yourselves before him. Mormon 5:22-24 To all people, in all times and all places, the command is the same : repent and turn from wickedness. Each of us is a child of God, endowed with something of divinity within us. Ultimately, we are in his hands--like the lilies of the field and the sparrows in the skies. All things come from him, move by his power, and owe allegiance to him. We may be prodigals who occasionally wander from the true God, but he ever stands ready to receive us. We need only turn to him with full purpose of heart. It is in total surrender to God that we gain true victory over sinfulness, fleshly susceptibilities, and the pride of the natural man. The Saints of God are to become as children--submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things (Mosiah 3:19). We cannot stand before the power of God unless we are ready to bow in meekness and lowly submission.
