Saturday, November 8, 2014 Todays Gospel/ Lk 16:9-15 Application of the Parable of the Dishonest Steward No servant can serve two masters... You cannot serve God and mammon. Reflection: The gospel gives us a thorough instruction on the right use of money. Money in this reading actually represents everything that is of value only in this world, everything about which people rightly say, You cant take it with you. Jesus makes it very clear that love of God and love of money are mutually exclusive. No man can serve two masters...You cannot give yourself to God and money. If God is our true Master, we will not serve money. If our master is money, or mammon, we will not serve God. Amen. If we act prudently, using this worlds goods with one eye on the poor and the other on Gods kingdom, we will prove ourselves worthy disciples of Jesus here and hereafter.
