Saturday, October 4, 2014, 20 yr. old Ashley Grow neglected to stop at a stop sign and t-boned the drivers side of my 3 yr. old car w/only 17,000 mi. on it. When my ins. could finally get in contact w/her a few days later, she said she didnt have any ins. Although, she showed the officer an ins. card. He cited her for not stopping at the sign. I called him as soon as I learned she didnt have ins. He said he would do some checking into it and get back to me. October 17, Officer Sparks called me back to let me know that Ashleys family is a very Responsible family and that Ashley, supposedly, tried to pay her ins. but her check did not clear the bank (bounced?)!!! And she still owed $7,000 to pay off on her, now, totaled car. Ashleys parents are trying to teach her responsibility so its up to her to pay for it. She resides w/parents. October 27th I spoke w/Deputy Chief Lanier in the office. He said he would contact attending Officer Sparks to see why he wouldnt cite Ashley for no ins. October 28th Officer Lanier called me to let me know that Sparks didnt want to gouge Ashley another $131 on top of the damage to her car because she is learning to be responsible! Who am I??? Just a little irresponsible peon who pays my ins, who had the right away, who has rented a car over 3 mo, who had to pay my deductible ($750) out of my own pocket, and my ins. paid over $11,000 on repairs! No, Ashley nor her parents, have tried to respond to me or my ins and try to reimburse me for ANY of it! Apparently, in Lewiston ID, if your father was a commissioner, your uncle is an attorney, and your step father is the Chief Financial Officer of the LMT then you dont have to have Ins. or be responsible!!! Thank you!
